The Supporter provides ongoing feedback and feedforward to the Participant via the Pulse Feedback process. This would be a similar role as a Rater or Stakeholder in a 360 process.
We generally recommend 5 Supporters per goal – people who observe the Participant in action and are willing to spend a few minutes each pulse feedback round to provide comments and help the leader improve his/her effectiveness.
Supporters may include the Participant's Manager, Peers, Direct Reports and Others. A Participant doesn't necessarily need all of those groups. For example, if the Participant's goals are focused more on the dynamics with their team members or leaders at their level in other functions of the business, their Supporters may just be Peers.
To add a Supporter, first encourage Participants to speak with their Supporters verbally, asking them to participate throughout their coaching and/or leadership development experience. It's helpful to let the Supporters know the process and set expectations.
Either the Coach or the Participant can add a Supporter.
On the Project page, select your Participant.
Scroll down the Participant main page to locate their Supporters section (under the Action Plan).
Select "Add New +" to add new Supporters.
Add the Supporter’s name and email address. (Note: there is no limit to the number of supporters on a project).
To include a welcome message, click the check box at the bottom of the form. A welcome message can also be sent immediately or at a later time.
A standard welcome message will be displayed. The text can be edited to personalize the message. Once the supporters are added to the system, they will receive an email.
To submit, click the green “Add Supporters” button at the bottom of the form.
